[Malwarebytes Shell_notification failed to perform ... Error Code 2]

I have had this error message popup when I I first started my laptop about a week ago:

Malwarebytes Shell_notification failed to perform desired action: Error Code 2

And when I click on OK, none of my desktop icons or taskbar load.

I have to start in Safe Mode and open Malwarebytes and turn off "Start protection module with Windows" and then retart Windows. (I am using Windows XP) and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro - paid for version.

I had "Enable filesystem protection" and "Enable malicious website blocking" both checked, but when I had to start in Safe Mode, I noticed these were unchecked.

What's strange, is a few days later, my other computer did the same thing!

Last week when this first happened on my laptop, I uninstalled Malwarebytes, ran the clean program, downloaded the program again and reinstalled. It was fine for about a week, and now this morning, the same problem.

Went into Save Mode and unchecked Start Protection module with Windows and restarted. Icons/Taskbar loaded, but I don't have my Malwarebytes running.

What is going on? Anyone know?
