Couldn't check if DMA mode is used because there was nothing listed with "Channel" under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. Only one item: AMD SATA Controller. Hi, My son's laptop takes a terribly long time to boot. Neither Avast nor Malwarebytes show any infected items. I wonder whether it is all the startup tasks, looking for software updates. Since I'm clueless I'm concerned about using HijackThis to simply delete some of these items without getting expert advise first.
