    Hello, I wanted to let you know that I stumbled upon the answer to my issue. Thank you for your help approximately 2 weeks ago regarding "access denied" messages

    The solution turned out to be a setting on my laptop. XP was not set to use the notepad accessory. Once I found that, I was able to read logs again. Thanks for your patience.
