  1. Wildcat, Could you try adding those 2 files to Norton and Webroot's exclusions lists as well? C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\drivers\mwac.sys
  2. You can attach the log by clicking the "More Reply Options" button and then there will be an option at the bottom to attach files.

  5. hatie, When one thing doesn't work, we try another. Please try the following: Ensure MBAM is not running. Download the attached net.conf file. net.zip Extract the file. Place the net.conf file into the following directory and have it replace the existing one: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Configuration Open MBAM.Give this a shot and let us know if this helps!
  6. Please try the following: Run mbam-clean. Run mbam-check and save the mbam-check log. Reinstall MBAM 2.0. Post your mbam-check log here.If you ran mbam-clean after you uninstall, it may not be removing all your files correctly. Please try these new steps and let me know the results.
  7. hatie123, I wanted to ask, from your first post it sounds like you did the following: Uninstalled MBAM 2.0. Ran mbam-clean after manually uninstalling. Reinstalled MBAM 2.0.Does this sound correct?

As firefox pointed out earlier, your last triggered/scheduled/nextscheduled value looks like it's set to the future... September 6th. lastscheduled: Sat, 06 Sep 2014 13:05:39.726993 +0100 lasttriggered: Sat, 06 Sep 2014 13:05:39.726993 +0100 nextscheduled: Sat, 06 Sep 2014 14:09:03.726993 +0100 Additionally, it says you created your scheduled update on July 09, 2014 start: Wed, 09 Jul 2014 18:24:33.773728 +0100 In order to see if scheduled updates are working, did you manually change the system time for your computer?
  11. Clone, Thank you for getting us another crash dump for this. We have seen this in the past and getting more information regarding this will help us ensure that the fix we are working on will be helping more users that have this issue like yourself.
  12. Jessica, Our development team has looked at the new memory dump file and have determined it to be similar to another issue other users had seen. They have submitted a fix for this and it should be in our next release of MBAM 2.0.

  14. Hello again sng119, I've got some bad news. The crash dump you have given us doesn't seem to have information we need. I will need you to do the following for me: Open Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM). Click on the "Update Now" button on the dashboard. Wait for MBAM to crash (Show the "A problem has caused the program to stop working"). Take a screenshot or copy the information from this window. You may need to click on "View Details" in order to see this information. It should be on the bottom left of that window. See example: Open Windows Task Manager (Press CTRL + ALT + Esc) Click on the Details Tab in Task Manager. Locate the process that crashed from the error window (In this case it should be MBAM.exe). Right click on that process and select "Create Dump File" The file location will be displayed for that memory dump. Please upload that memory dump in the same box.com location I've given you in the past. Please let me know if there are any problems or if the instructions are unclear.
  15. clone1612, Hello and Now I see you have issues with MBAM on startup. If you see malwarebytes crash again, afterwards could you please do the following? This is very important that you follow these instructions when getting a crash dump for your problem. Do not close the error message: Start Task Manager. To do this, use one of the following methods: Right-click an empty area of the task bar, and then click Start Task Manager. Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC. Click the Processes tab. Right-click the name of the process that you want (mbam.exe), and then click Create Dump File. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue. A dump file for the process is created in the following folder: Drive:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp When you receive a message that states that the dump file was successfully created, click OK. Afterwards, you can close the windows error message from step 1.I'm requesting this once more just in case this happens again. I've already submitted the first memory dump to our developers. Keep us posted!

If the software is believed to be a false positive, you can create a new thread in the false positive section of our forums so our researchers can determine how and why this particular software/file is being detected. Going back to my previous question, are you still seeing the original issue while scanning or updating with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware?
  17. Hi there Ivan, This leaves us with 2 questions then: When you attempt to update or scan, does MBAM still have some sort of issue? (Application Crash, Hang, BSOD, etc.) Firefox asked: Why are you ignoring malware instead of removing it?

Ensure you have "Enable self-protection module" unchecked under the Advanced Settings tab. Run the following tool: http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam_clean Allow your computer to reboot when prompted. Reinstall MBAM: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/ At the end of your installation, please ensure Start Trial and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware are unchecked. Run the net.conf replacement tool: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/152047-what-to-do-runtime-error-database-stuck-on-20140304-program-stopped/ Additional Note: Please be sure to run the net.conf replacement tool as Administrator! Run the mbam-check tool: http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam_check Attach the logs here. Attach copies of all the configuration files from this folder: %ProgramData%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Configuration Open MBAM for the first time after reinstallation and net.conf replacement.I know it's a lot but please give this a try.

  21. Hello Jessica, I'm sorry to hear you are still having issues. We need to collect some information for our developers. Please do the following: 1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc simultaneously.2. Click the Show processes from all users button to gain administrative rights for the Task Manager.3. Right-click "mbam.exe". 4. Select Create Dump File from the context menu.5. After the dump file is created, you will be informed about location of the file (e.g. C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\Temp\<process_name>.DMP).6. Please attach the file in this thread.
  22. Hello fivealive, We have looked at your issue and have not been able to replicate. I hope you don't mind trying a few things for me to see if we can alleviate your issue. Please do the following: If MBAM is installed, do not uninstall it. Ensure the "Enable self-protection module" checkbox in Advanced Settings is unchecked. Download and run the mbam-clean tool: http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam_clean Reinstall MBAM 2.0.2.1012: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/ Reactivate MBAM with your ID/Key. See if you still have the same issue.

You can try 2 things for now: Attempt to boot into safe mode and restore all the quarantined files to repair windows.Attempt a Windows System Restore.See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/what-are-system-recovery-options#what-are-system-recovery-options=windows-7This happened due to a False Positive on the database version v2014.07.26.09. If you have the latest database v2014.07.27.02, you should not encounter this error.
