  1. I just signed up for a free month of Zone Alarm anti-ransomware to try it by curiosity. I did not realize that in my Malwarebytes premium version there is also an anti-ransomware feature. I saw that by coincidence when i checked the settings of my Malwarebytes premium that there was an anti-ransomware feature. I turned the MBAM anti-ransomware feature of while using the Zone Alarm anti-ransomware to avoid conflict between these programs. I have been lucky and have so far not been attacked by any ransomware so i have not had any chance to test which antiransomware is the most effective. Before the free trial month is over,i have to decide if i should continue to use Zone Alarm anti-ransomware which costs 2$ every month,or if i should stay with Malwarebytes anti-ransomware which is included in my lifetime license version. Which anti-ransomware is the most effective? Please give feedback. Is it worth paying 2$ every month for the Zone Alarm anti-ransomware,or is the Malwarebytes anti-ransomware just as good? Iam not quite sure if this is the right section to post, but please move it to the right section otherwise.
  2. Thank you for the help Porthos and Firefox! Indeed one could enable the right click feature in the 3.0.6 version like you explained Firefox. I missed that setting. I did not knew that there was a newer version of MB Premium, but i downloaded it like you explained Porthos. I now have the 3.1.2 version installed and one can right click scans with it. The issue is solved!
  3. With premium versions i could right click folders and pictures and downloads and so on and chose to scan these with malwarebytes. With this new Malwarebytes Premium 3.0.6 version i can no longer do so. Have the staf at Malwarebytes disable this very useful feature? If so,why? Can i enable the right click scaning folder option in some sort of way?
  4. I agree and get the same results. So far i have not seen that the IP protection or the Web protection really works. Furthermore, i find it surprisingly that the Chameleon is not compatible with the MB 3.0. When downloading the Chameleon and trying to open it, it launches the old MB 2.0 version.
  5. I have just installed the Malwarebytes Premium version. I have a lifetime license. In earlier versions of MBAM there was a feature called IP-protection. When one visited possible dangerous website it gave a warning. For example many Chinese sites like www.shoudian.org MBAM gave a warning. Is the IP-protection gone in the new Premium version? Is there a way to test the web protection? Is there any link to a site that tests the MBAM web protection?
  6. I am using the Windows 7 Home Premium, and i have earlier always used the command Services.MSC to set the MBAM service to Automatic(delayed start), since MBAM has at several occassions caused Windows to freeze at startup or start up very slowly otherwise. After downloading the latest release of MBAM 2.2.1, it does not work to set the MBAM serive to Automatic(delayed start) while using the command Services.MSC. Everytime i restart the computer and then when checking Serives.MSC, the standard setting Automatic start is there again. Does anyone has any advice how to set the MBAM services to Automatic(delayed start) that will remain after restarting the computer?? Thanks in advance.
  7. My UAC pops up when launching the Chameleon, but it does not pop up when starting MBAM the ordinary way double clicking the icon. Is the UAC supposed to pop up when launching the Chameleon?
  8. Thank you both for the advice! Yes, it helped. Good to know i don´t have to download it separately. I found the Chameleon under TOOLS and i created a shortcut of it to the desktop. From there it launches perfectly.
  9. Today i downloaded the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0, and so far it has performed flawless! The issue of MB freezes my computer that occured several times before with the old version, is no sign of in the 2.0 version i am happy to say! Before i downloaded the 2.0 i uninstalled the old MB and the old Chameleon. I can´t find the Chameleon under any settings in the 2.0 version. Is it embedded anyway, or do i have to download the Chameleon separately?
  10. Thank you for the help! Then Malwarebytes did a great job detecting these files and it was the right thing to do to delete them. I have done another full scan with Malwarebytes Pro, and this time it did not detect anything so i guess the malware is now permanently removed. If it should appear again, i will post here for further advice.
  11. Today when doing a full scan using Malwarebytes Pro, it detected these files: C:\Program Files (x86)\Check Point Software Technologies LTD\zonealarm\1.8.3.16\zonealarmEng.dll (PUP.Optional.MonteraToolBar.A) C:\Program Files (x86)\Check Point Software Technologies LTD\zonealarm\1.8.3.16\zonealarmEng.dll (PUP.Optional.MonteraToolBar.A) C:\Program Files (x86)\Check Point Software Technologies LTD\zonealarm\1.8.3.16\zonealarmEng.dll (PUP.Optional.MonteraToolBar.A) C:\Program Files (x86)\Check Point Software Technologies LTD\zonealarm\1.8.3.16\zonealarmEng.dll (PUP.Optional.MonteraToolBar.A) I could succesfully remove these files, but i have some questions about what this PUP.Optional.MonteraToolBar.A is. I am using Zone alarm Antivirus, so i am wondering if it´s the case that Malwarebytes removed a legitime part of the Zone alarm Antivirus, or is this PUP. Optional.MonteraToolBar.A a real malware, and i did the right thing removing it? I have not being able to find any info about this, so i am hoping that someone at this forum could help med regarding this, then i would be grateful.
  12. You are certainly not alone experiencing this issue! Many others and me to also have the same problem and i could not use Malwarebytes for 2 months using the 1.65 version.I am using Windows 7. It was not until i installed the current version(1.70) that was released in December 2012 i could start my computer with Malwarebytes installed. Even after i installed the 1.70 version i have to go to services.msc and then set Malwarebytes to automatic( delayed start) in order to have it start without having it freezing Windows when starting the computer. In my case there was not a conflict with my Antivirus program that caused the problem, since i uninstalled my antivirus and even by doing so i was not able to run Malwarebytes without freezing Windows. Have you tried using services.msc and then set Malwarebytes to automatic(delayed start)? This might help you.
  13. I have a ticket and are having a dialog with the support. Every computer is uniqe like you said, however i just wanted to raise the point that Skodkim is not the only user having this freezing problem, and it all began after the update to version 1.65.1.1000. Before that Malwarebytes worked flawless. Wish you good luck and that the issue will be alright for you,Skodkim!
  14. I have the same problem as you have with Windows freezing at startup when having Malwarebytes installed. I also have Win7 X64 Home Ed and i have Malwarebytes Pro. I have to go to failsafe mode and unistall Malwarebytes in order to have Windows work properly. It all started after the upgrade to the current version of Malwarebytes 1.65.1.1000. I have this issue for over a month now, and the issue has not been solved yet. I can´t give any more advice to you than to contact custom support. They want you to provide them with logs on you system ( DDS scanner) that they are going to send to you,and then you send it back to them as attached files.
  15. That was a good question! I have actually thought about it to what was going to happen if this case occurs. Like mentioned in the previous post i guess that the only time this could happen is when the Antivirus program has failed to stop the threat in the first place.
  16. I guess that i was a little fast saying that the issue of freezeup was solved. Now Windows are freezing again using Malwarebytes. I don´t know if it´s because of some conflict between antivirus program and Malwarebytes. By curiosity, what antivirus and firewall are you using on your computer when your computer freezes?
  17. I had the same issue. It´s also about this matter in this thread http://forums.malwar...howtopic=117649 I don´t know why, but from today the issue with freezing stoped, and my Malwarebytes Pro version works again. I don´t have a laptop, but the issue was the same for me,but it works now.Hope it will work for you to.
  18. My previous account dissapeared during this issue,so i had to create a new one. I had not made so many posts anyway so it´s no catastrophe for me.
  19. I also had the issue with Windows freezing since the latest Malwarebytes upgrade. I´ve seen others threads here at the forum regarding the same issue, so you are not the only user experiencing this. Today the issue appears to be solved for me at least. Now i can run Malwarebytes without windows freezing.
