Thank you, Jeff.
I have some progress. First, the dds finally worked this afternoon, so I am attaching the results.
I will do the other steps in a moment. But first, here is the first...

Hello:
I use Malwarebytes Premium and have an infection which the software can't seem to remove.
I did read the FAQs and saw this:
"Download DDS from here: dds.scr or here: dds.com and save it to your desktop."
However, my system issues will not allow dds.scr to run, so I am afraid I can't post those results.
I had a series of Trojan infections which MWB seemed to fix. However, I get a message saying "svchost.exe" is causing some sort of problem and must be quarantined. I choose that option. However, I know have security updates from Microsoft which apparently require svchost in order to install, because I get a MS error code indicating svchost is blocked and therefore the update isn't ocurring.
Adding insult to injury, I get a blue screen every other day or so, and Windows Defender (MS free product) tells me I have the Trojan "Alureon" but it can't remove it. MWB's doesn't show that same problem.
I would certainly appreciate any assistance. I've backed up all my files as I fear a total hard drive wipe may be necessary.
Thank you
