  1. Well, after rebooting, this seems to be resolved, as well. Perhaps I am all clean now? Should we perform a final check of some kind?
  2. I uninstalled and then reinstalled MSE. It then downloaded a new update, and ran a scan. Found numerous problems (sirefef or something like that)...removed them all after quarantine. Issue persists that I am redirected from certain URLs. For example, www.malwarebyte.org comes up as http://searchignited.com?dn=malwarebyte.org&pid=1PO8GV3V7O
  3. Did all as directed, still same problem. There is also a persistent icon in the icon tray. Looks like a red house with a red flag on it and a white X. When moused-over, it says PC status: at risk. When double clicked,it says it's Microsoft Security Essentials, and that the real time protection is off and the virus and spyware definitions are out of date, and offers a button to "start now", which I have not clicked.
  4. FYI - the virus appears to still be present, as I cannot get to www.malwarebytes.org via IE.
  5. K...will have to,do it Tuesday...out of town now. Thanks so,much for all the help.
  6. Thanks again - attaching the files (you said cut and paste - is that preferable?) Search.txt FRST.txt
  7. Thank you, Mr. CHarlie. Report is attached: RKreport1.txt
  8. Hi, I have apparently been infected...ie is redirecting to bogus URLs for anything that it finds threatening, including these forums. Chase.com is popping up a suspicious "give us all your info" window, and until I ran Chameleon, I could not launch Malware. I have since launched and run Malwarebytes PRO, and it quarantined some problems, but there remains a persistent rootkit issue that every time I scan, it finds it, says it removes it, but it is still there, still wreaking havoc. I have changed all my passwords from a different device, and run the DDS I have seen referenced in other similar threads. They are posted below. Please advise. Dan B DDS.txt Attach.txt
