  1. Isn't that just another way to do this in XP: Start > Run > cmd > ipconfig /release then Start > Run > cmd > ipconfig /renew For Win95/98: Start > Run > cmd > winipcfg In the dialog box that opens up, click on Release, then Renew. Wouldn't the outcome essentially be the same?
  2. I seem to have several folders in the root of my c drive, with class id like names that contain different versions/sizes of this executable. System is XP Pro SP3, should I delete these various entries, or will microsoft eventually remove them or just continue to add further versions add-infinitum 'til my hard drive fills up?
  3. I just got through building a computer for a friend. This makes the 4th computer ive built myself. I install everything properly. Everything is plugged in, and installed correctly. I finally plug it up to the wall, and hit the power button. Everything powers on. Hd is on, all fans(including cpu fan which is powered through the mobo), mootherboard lights come on, cdrom, ect. But nothing boots up. No beeping sounds from built in speaker, nothing comes up on the monitor, and no hard drive activity. Any idea on what could be the problem? Im leaning towards a defective motherboard or processor. I just wanted a second opinion before I start shipping things off for replacement. Thanks.
