  1. My Internet Explorer kept closing down and when I rebooted I got numerous errors about my hard drive and purchasing some software to fix it. I was sure it was a virus of sometype. I rebotted into Safe Mode with Networking and when it booted up, my desktop was plank and start menu was pretty much gone. It also said that I had no restore points. I downloaded the latest Malwarebytes update and ran it. It found 2 virus files both entitled PUM.HIJACK.STARTMENU. I told it to remove them and Malwarebuyes said it succesfully did. I rebooted and I still had the same problems. I reran Malwarebytes and the same two files came up as still being on my computer. I told Malwarebytes to remove them (again) and it said that it did so successfully (again). I rebooted and it still all looks the same (bad). I haven't re-run Malwarebytes again yet (it take 90 minutes or more) but suspect that the files are still there. Any suggestions?
