  1. Also, I already have the pro version of MB and am using it.
  2. I ran the uninstaller twice before installing Kas pure. It does still start up a little slow and the reports menu does not work well, such as when I try to group things by this or that, they just do not group. Oh, and how do I set the exclusion rules in Kas and MB so that they don't conflict with each other? Or should I even bother with this version of Kas?
  3. I've installed Kaspersky pure now, and my scans are completing. I ran the Kaspersky un-installer twice. Should I run DDS again to see if this issue has cleared up?
  4. I didn't disable my firewall as that appeared optional. I don't know if it has a script blocker.
  5. Oh, I should note that I did not right click it to run it as that option was not available. I had to left click it, automatically got the run as prompt, and then ran it.
  6. That's a pretty awkward interface. Here they are. DDS.zip Attach.zip
  7. Umm... where's the attachment icon?
  8. (really need an edit button) Also, Kaspersky keeps telling me to remove Malwarebytes, should I?
  9. I figured it may be alright since webroot works differently from Kaspersky.
  10. Disabling my security suite is optional?
  11. Webroot is the only thing I've had other than Kaspersky. I wonder, when I installed the 2013 version I did not remove the old version thinking it would just update to the new version. Could that be a problem? I've been having problems since I got the 2013 version, but just now am getting scan that lock up and the 100% CPU usage thing.
  12. Well, I removed webroot and now Kaspersky is back to not finishing scans (they lock up and I cannot abort them). WTF?
  13. So, what do I do? And what's wrong with symantec?
  14. Hmmm. I've had problems with Kaspersky 2013. 1) It's slow to start up (although now that I have webroot complete demo running paralell to it it starts up great. I know I'm not supposed to run them parallel, but it works. WTF?) 2) It doesn't always register start ups in the detailed reports 3) It just started using 100% of my CPU. It would start this a while after logging in and just keep using that 100%. (Of course this stopped when I installed the webroot demo) 4) Scans would get stuck (This stopped after I installed webroot complete demo.) And maybe some other stuff I forgot. I installed the webroot demo thinking I would delete kaspersky, but they appear to be working well together. It's bizarre.
  15. I don't want Norton and Kaspersky is too buggy. So let's rule those out. What do you all think of bit defender and web root?
  16. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20858 That seems to have fixed things. Why the crap wouldn't it work in the first place though? The updates were downloaded but just wouldn't update for some reason.
  17. I didn't realize that vista was interchangable with 7. I tried the first one and it failed. I tried copying some lines in that cmd prompt, and when I right clicked it said (enter) next to copy (copy was greyed out). So I pressed enter and ended up with multiple lines of "C:\Windows\system32>" in the cmd prompt. Did that mess anything up?
  18. (I realize I'm quoting myself here) I tried this but it only worked when logged in as admin, will not work run as admin and I am not logging onto the net as admin.
  19. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/KB971058 In that link there is a "run now" button. Is that safe to click on and will the trouble shooter it is supposed to activate be any differen't from the trouble shooter that I can access from my control panel?
  20. It seems to download the updates, but they are not successful past that point. I get the error code 800736B3 on both of them. I had a lot of updates today apparently, for windows that is, and all but two worked just find. The two that fail, over and over again, are KB2769369 and KB2726535. This bugs me as one is a very important update. I have tried the trouble shooter and it doesn't do crap. All it does is make sure I'm connected to the net. I would search online but the web pages that come up are not ones that I know of as safe.
