God, for someone who's been doing this kind of stuff for 15 years, when the most basic stuff slips my mind it really makes me wonder what's wrong with me. Didn't even think of Safe Mode.
The same thing just happened in SM. Frozen "Scanning Chrome settings..."
Uninstalled Chrome, was able to complete scan.

Re: your instructions: I have attempted to scan with OTL, and it hangs with 50% CPU utilization when it gets to "Scanning Chrome settings..."

Hello MB,
I have a similar problem to the previous poster and want to know if I can use exactly the same procedure (specifically the extra steps in ComboFix) to clean my system or if you'd require my providing the appropriate logs (which I have generated already) to get this sorted.
I'm hesitant to post the logs in advance because I have my full name as my username on Windows 7, which would expose my identity to the world along with every little detail about my computer.
