  1. Ignore my signature. This is a Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit computer, and the other 2 I tested on are Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. There was 3 or 4 Avast program updates at the end of last week; and the issue I see only started after the last one Version 17.3.2291 {build 17.3.3443.0} Release date: 3/30/2017 6:59:59 AM
  2. When this question was asked, I too would have said I have been running Avast free and MBAM Premium for years without any ill effects... they get along together just fine. But as of this week, I think it was an Avast update, but now there IS an issue with both running on a system at the same time. Avast's Behavior Shield keeps turning itself off -for no reason at all. Through some testing on different computers, I was able to determine that the conflict is between MBAM and Avast, but again, it was since the last Avast program update that this started. So if you are having any issues between the 2, head over to the Avast forums and report it there.
  3. If I may add a 3rd *possible* solution, that worked for me. After going through all the help here (in my own thread) that didn't get my MBAM 3.0.6 working, a thought went through my head while trying to sleep. I tried it when I had time yesterday, and everything has been working properly since... about 18 hours and it's updating properly again. What I did was removed my license, manually updated; (which works if you are in free edition), then I re-entered my license... and it has been updating all by itself last evening, and after starting up today, it updated just fine again this morning. Too simple... but it worked (for me).
  4. I'm not running WinXP anymore... but I can't change my signature unless I have 50 posts or something stupid. This computer runs Win7 Enterprise edition. None-the-less, I just don't have the time to get into it right now; so it's something I will look at when I have the time. I have 2.2.1 protecting me again, so I feel better than before with 3.0.6 not updating the database. I'll be back another time when I have time to go through everything with you. Or would I be better contacting the Help Desk again, since it is a licensing issue?
  5. OK, my client was late so I was working on this. Fully uninstalled, rebooted, installed latest version as instructed. All went well. Tried to activate my license and it says I don't have an internet connection.... uhmmm... yes I do... Looked over a few things (including HOSTS file) and everything looked good. Tried to activate again and it told me I have a bad key. I was using the new key number that MBAM3 shows; as it was different than my original Key for version 2. Tried using my original key and same results... (BTW, I have had my license key verified by the help desk in the past, because my MBAM was already installed on this computer when I bought it (used business computer) and wanted to make sure it was a good license ) Clean uninstalled again, rebooted, reinstalled MBAM 2.2.1 and put in my original Key and all works well again. So, as I said yesterday, I am going to stick with 2.2.1 until the rest of the bugs get ironed out with MBAM 3. Thanks for your assistance Ron.
  6. Hi Ron, Thanks for the info. I have a few busy days, so I'll get to all that when I have a chance, then get back to you, but it might not be until Monday. Thanks and have a Great Weekend :-)
  7. I have update package 1.0.1570, and as above, have exited MBAM, then rebooted... still stuck... just like a dozen others that have posted here :\ I think I'll just roll back to V 2.2.1 and wait for V3 .1
  8. I've done exactly that; just now for the 3rd time today (to see if anything has changed) and still stuck at 'updates are not current' This is only on my 3.0.6 Premium. I just checked my 2 other computers that still have version 2.2.1 free edition and after 3 to 5 minutes of 'checking for updates' the database did update to the latest database.
  9. MBAM Staff, I don't thing you want 100 new topics about this, so I'm just going to add my "Me too" here. I read that your severs had an issue, but should be working now... but they aren't.. MBAM still won't update, even after a reboot about 2 minutes ago.
  10. It climbs with or without an update. It does jump up a small chunk when you do an update, but other than that, it's the same slow climb.
  11. Sorry Swandog, but I did the reg hack and it did nothing... Removed the few things that were in the ignore list and again, it did nothing Memory use still continually rising.... Comp. info in signature... any info that should be in there?
  12. I think this problem is one in the same as what's causing some to see error codes 2 and 1073. I have a newer machine with tons of memory and the mbamservice is using 305,000K and continually climbing, but it otherwise working... Another older machine, the protection module keeps disabling itself along with the errors 2 and 1073 Both of these systems only started having issues with update 1.43, and didn't have issues with 1.42 (I continually monitor task manager, and noticed this immediately). I have been reading about all the issues others have been having for a few days, and the solutions to try, but it doesn't seem to have fixed anything for any of us.
