System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I've looked everywhere for info including this site and seem to have run into a wall. Somehow one of our computers got the Live Security Platinum installed on it. As per a recommendation on the web, I restarted in safe mode with networking and used a program named Trojan Killer to remove it. I then ran spy bot search and destroy, adaware, windows defender and malware bytes Spy bot and adaware just found cookies, but Malwarebytes found something and I clicked fix. (As I recall the problems were listed as a Trojan and a PUP-something.) Malware said to restart to finish the cleanup before I did that I noticed that windows defender said it could not be started. Nothing seemed to work, so I uninstalled it and re-installed it. Then rebooted. Now the computer boots up and automatically shutdowns down again with a warning that "windows found a critical error and must shutdown". I have gone to My Computer - advanced system settings - startup and recovery and unchecked Automatically restart. It even does this is Safe Mode and Safe Mode with Networking. I downloaded the dds.com file and put it on that computer, but it ends up shutting down before the program finishes.
