Considering using the older version pre 1.65.1.1000 of malwarebytes and telling my customers not to upgrade to the latest version as a stopgap until a fix is found.

On another note, does anyone actually have any idea as to a fix for these issues I mentioned?

On a side note, I am using this on multiple computers, multiple antivirus products same issue. I am seeing this with Microsoft Security Essentials and Eset NOD32 Antivirus to begin with, but it's happened with Norton and McAfee also.

Thanks for the assistance. This isn't due to any malware infections but a problem with Malwarebytes in version 1.65.1.1000 and later. Directly after the activation of the protection module on a brand new install of windows, the system goes into hourglass mode. This used to be solved via the delay on the service in windows vista/7 and fixed with delayguistart in the registry in windows XP. This is no longer the case. I'm needing to know what actually changed and how to solve it. I can't recommend malwarebytes to anyone if it causes the USB external hard drives to lock the system on XP and go into hourglass mode on vista/7.

Hello,
I wanted to post about an issue I have with the latest versions of malwarebytes. I promote the program heavily at my shop. I have an issue where if the protection module activates with any antivirus present it locks the system and on XP I get a spinning hourglass and can't use external hard drives. Secondly I can't load the protection module with vista or 7 without it waiting at with the screen that says welcome. It never finishes logging it, or it goes and locks up the system with the spinning circle just like on XP hourglass mode.
Are there any fixes, I even tried the beta of 1.70.xxx and it does the same thing.
Some help would be nice.
