This applies to Windows 10x64 Pro Build 18363.476 V1909, the latest version 4 of MBAM and the latest version of MS Edge Chromium as the default browser. When opening the latest Support Tool V1.5.3.749, the support tool opens and then hangs. The tool cannot be exited via "End Task" in the Task Manager and requires a system reboot to get out of the problem.

Hey great!. Thanks for the info.
-
Is that implying that version 4.0.4.49 is not beta but the official public release that was announced Monday?
-
Is there a download link for beta version 4.0.4.49 component v1.0.717? Perhaps a changelog too?

Clicking on the icons performs the same function as clicking on "Scan" (below Quick Scan icon) and "Configure Scan" under Custom Scan. That would make them consistent with the icons on the GUI below.

IG.exe / IGDump: What are these used for?

Any luck on contacting Bitdefender technicians to fix this issue? I'm getting no response from them on this. -
IG.exe / IGDump: What are these used for?
siliconman01 replied to siliconman01's topic in Malwarebytes 4.x Beta
Hey thanks! Hopefully you will be successful working with Bitdefender to resolve this issue. In the meantime, I will disable Advanced Threat Defense during a MBAM 4 scan. -
I have Bitdefender Internet Security 2020 installed on my primary computer. This is with Windows 10x64 Pro Build 18362.327 V1903. Even though I have placed IG.exe in the Exceptions area of Bitdefender's Advanced Threat Detection and Antivirus Protection sections, when I run a standard MB 4.0.1 scan or custom scan, Bitdefender jumps in and blocks IG.exe from doing something to a folder named IGDUMP located in LocalLow. I submitted IG.exe to Bitdefender as a FP last Thursday; however, there has been no corrective action via Bitdefender tech support. My questions are: 1. What is the impact of BD blocking IG.exe during a MB scan? 2. And the obvious question of "Does anyone know how to make BD 2020 to stop detecting this as a threat?"

MB4.01: GUI does not respond to Pen
siliconman01 replied to siliconman01's topic in Malwarebytes 4.x Beta
The 4.0 GUI does respond to my Lynktec pen when used on my primary PC with a Dell P2714T touch screen monitor. So MBAM 4 does have the ability to recognize the use of pens. I guess the fact that the Dell XPS 15 (9575) 2in1 functions as a Laptop or a Tablet is a bit confusing to MBAM 4. 🤔 -
This applies to MB 4.01.31 on Windows 10x64 Pro Build 18362.295 V1903 running on a Dell XPS 15 (9575) 2in1 laptop/tablet. The new GUI responds to the keyboard touch pad cursor and the touch screen (finger touch). However it does not respond to the Dell pen on the touch screen. mbst-grab-results.zip

If the option "Manual scan performance impact>Manual scans take priority over other applications" is selected, the user might as well go have a cup of whatever when performing a Custom Scan. The system browsers and other tasks become very unresponsive. And this is with all protection modules turned off. Version 3.8.3 does not experience this nearly as significantly as version 4.0.1. Perhaps this can be toned down a bit in version 4 so that a user can experience high scanning speed and still use the system during the scan.

Here are some more False Positives. The others that I posted on 23-Aug appear to be resolved. fp_tracker_2019-08-24_Forum_66657200-c633-11e9-9a53-305a3a05c7ae.zip

I really, really like the new MB 4 interface. Takes a little click testing to find all the features; however, once a user becomes acclimated to the design concern, it is obviously a major enhancement over previous versions.

More False Positives from a scheduled scan using MB 4.0.1 fp_tracker_2019-08-23_Forum_54000b24-c56c-11e9-ad0e-305a3a05c7ae.zip

This tool needs updated to incorporate Malwarebytes 4.0. I did a repair on 4.0 using the current tool version and it indicated that it replaced 4.0 with the current 3.8.3. However, MB 4.0 beta was not replaced. mbst-grab-results.zip

Attached is a False Positive report from the first scan of MB 4.0 Beta. fp_tracker_2019-08-23_Forum_77b2b672-c565-11e9-bdaf-305a3a05c7ae.zip fp_tracker_2019-08-23_Forum_9d89ee7c-c567-11e9-bbff-305a3a05c7ae.zip
