  1. Hello -- I got the evil AV Protection 2011 malware on my wife's laptop somehow (and man, I feel stupid about it). I tried running Malwarebytes, and it removed most of the symptoms (like the fake virus scanner), but every 60 seconds or so, I get an alert that malwarebytes has successfully blocked access to a malicious website. It looks like I have some extra trojan still jammed in somewhere. There are thousands of these entries in the protection log: 22:58:21 Bex IP-BLOCK 38.99.183.25 (Type: outgoing, Port: 49476, Process: iexplore.exe) 22:58:21 Bex IP-BLOCK 38.99.183.32 (Type: outgoing, Port: 49477, Process: iexplore.exe) 22:58:21 Bex IP-BLOCK 38.99.183.25 (Type: outgoing, Port: 49478, Process: iexplore.exe) 22:58:21 Bex IP-BLOCK 38.99.183.25 (Type: outgoing, Port: 49479, Process: iexplore.exe) 22:58:21 Bex IP-BLOCK 38.99.183.32 (Type: outgoing, Port: 49480, Process: iexplore.exe) 22:58:21 Bex IP-BLOCK 38.99.183.25 (Type: outgoing, Port: 49481, Process: iexplore.exe) 22:58:21 Bex IP-BLOCK 38.99.183.32 (Type: outgoing, Port: 49482, Process: iexplore.exe) etc etc. I have downloaded Combofix, but haven't used it yet (wanted to get a go ahead from you guys). I appreciate all/any help. Thanks for your assistance! Attach.txt DDS.txt
