  1. Hello, A few days ago I was infected with malware which gave me a false system restore, kept having pop ups saying something along the lines that my hard drives was failing, and prompted me to scan my computer. It also turned my desktop background black and hid my programs and many of my files. I installed malwarebytes (as well as a program recommended by bleeping computer to unhide hidden files) and ran it on my computer, and all of the problems seemed to go away. However, now I cannot download any files off of the internet. I go to download it, and as usual the pop up comes asking if I would like to open or save the file, but either way I chose it then says " 'insert file name here' could not be downloaded." Also, my internet is being really slow and crashing, but that may be unrelated. I have an excel file in my gmail I need to download before I can finish my homework assignment which is past due, so I'd like to fix this as soon as possible. I don't know whether it helps or not, but I have a Gateway GT5426E on a 32 bit operating system with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5100+ 2.6 GHz and 2.00 GB of RAM. It's on Window's Vista HOme Premium with service pack 2. Attached are some screen shots of what malwarebytes quarantined (I have scanned since then and it found no malware) and then the error message I have since been getting from the internet. Suggestions? Thanks!
