  1. Hello! This happened to me this morning as well. I did a ton of googling to find a solution and it was a mix and match of things. I think I've found my problem, (not sure if it'll be different for you all), but I also don't know how often those websites will come back and redirect out of nowhere but it hasn't happened yet since this morning so I'll assume it worked. What I did was I went to my google history from my phone in the upper right corner, then at the top of History, you'll see myactivity.google .com which will show you in detail what happens on your phone. I went to where t

Examples: We often need to see which drive letter is being used. Emojis change that when automated C: would normally produce 😀 D: would normally produce 😧

If such a bacteria exists someone will 'dump' it on a landfill site to eat the pastic there, (possibly a well meaning greenie activist, more likely the waste managment company, or the well meaning government). Scavenging birds on the landfil will pick it up on their feet and in their digestive tracts, then fly to the next landfill, the bins in the next town, etc. - and it's out in the world to spread unchecked and digest wanted as well as unwanted plastics. Oh, and being a bacteria it WILL mutate/evolve to digest

  16. Really sorry for the late reply here. I was just made aware of this post. For transparency, the aggressive gTLD blocking was introduced when our browser extension was in prototype mode and as a way to test a bunch of really aggressive approaches and heuristics in order to come up with a good balanced blacklist-plus-whitelisting approach. Those gTLDs were selected due to the high ratio of malicious to legitimate websites found in those gTLDs. Many of those aggressive detection approaches are still in the browser extension but some of the whitelisting approaches never solidified as original

It is worth noting that while this update did not demand a Windows restart (on my Win 10 machine), such was necessary for the visibility of network printers problem to be fixed. Well done and thanks to all who participated in locating and fixing this rather obscure set of problems; let's hope that we can now move on from this tedious issue!

  26. I got this window when installing the latest version as well. I already have all of the exclusions entered into Malwarebytes and Norton. I think this must just be a generic warning that has been added to Malwarebytes to let you know there might be a conflict and not a warning that you have a conflict. I've been running Malwarebytes and Norton side by side for years and have never had a problem. I left Norton running and the latest Malwarebytes installed without any problems. Bill

  28. I'm not in a position to know about staffing details, but it seems obvious to me that it's the same as it is for the volunteers here. There aren't nearly as many Mac users as their are Windows subscribers. That means the number of customers needing support are significant fewer and the profits from Mac subscriptions are similarly much lower in total. But the protection provided to us is much closer to that provided to Windows users and increasing over time, so why shouldn't the price be the same? It's simply the way profitable service companies operate.

Software and Hardware Problems Upgrading from Girlfriend application Wife issues; Last year a friend of mine upgraded from Girlfriend 4.0 to Wife 1.0 and found that it's a memory hog leaving few system resources for other applications. He is also now noticing the Wife 1.0 is also spawning Child-processes which are further consuming valuable resources. No mention of this particular phenomenon was included in the product documentation, though other users have informed me that this is to be expected due to the nature of the application. Not only that, Wife 1.0 installs itself so that it

  34. I found a copy of that file, and it definitely looks like a component of BirdMiner. It's just a data file, and not critical to remove if all the other BirdMiner-related items have been removed, but we'll still get that added to the database. As for why it can't be removed, we're seeing an issue right now where bugs in macOS are causing some BirdMiner files to become protected by System Integrity Protection (SIP). This is not normal, but it means that there is no way to remove the file without disabling SIP. I'd follow the recommendation of adas above to turn off SIP, then delete the file.

  35. @bjm sounds like some simple mis-communication from the Newegg support staff OR they just don't have access to that level of information and therefore cannot truthfully answer it. We do not have a public list of authorized retailers, resellers, etc. Generally speaking, any major retailer can sell Malwarebytes products and several major online retailers (e.g. Newegg, Amazon, etc.) can too along with select reseller partners (e.g MSPs, IT service providers, computer repair shops, etc.) and distributors. Our support staff can help verify a purchase if you question it. With that being s

As already stated, this is similar to other authorized resellers and retailers like Amazon, Bets Buy, Staples, Office Max/Office Depot, and more.

  38. Malwarebytes has never restricted any valid license key to a specific version of the product; ALL valid licenses work for all versions of Malwarebytes for Windows. The only issue would be if the licenses were pirated, which they clearly are not, especially since all modern (v3 and newer) license keys are provided by Malwarebytes to whoever is the original source for the licenses (i.e., whoever Newegg got them from). Likewise, for registering the license with My.Malwarebytes.com, as long as it is a legitimate/valid license key you will be able to register with My.Malwarebytes.com. No

  39. I would go ahead and get it. The issues in the past were all about the old lifetime keys that were floating around. Since this is a subscription I would not worry. The same instructions apply like Amazon purchases in regards to registering it in your Malwarebytes account. It will be upgradeable to any future version during the subscription period. Since you mentioned the 10 device license, be aware the license term begins when the first device is activated.

There are two kinds of Angels that I know of. The first kind walk among us. They are those who run towards danger whilst the vast majority of people are running away from it. They are the people who are confronted with a complex situation that is forked with an easy and not so righteous solution and the other more difficult path that is righteous. They take the difficult path even though it is hard but bec

  43. Hi JorgeBon, The site looks safe to me and no payloads were dropped. On Android you won't get the file injections or other buffer overflow type behaviors you will see with Window's browsers. Yes, typically an APK or app will need to be installed for the malware to get installed or dropped. There are no 'viruses,' as such, on Android. To protect yourself from apps being installed from a browser or some third party, ensure you have "Install from Unknown Sources', 'Install unknown apps' or similar wording disabled in Android Settings. -Armando

  44. I just updated MBAM to version 4.2.3 and at the conclusion of the update process, I was prompted to restart immediately or my system would be restarted without my consent in 10 minutes. This behavior is wildly unacceptable, openly user-hostile, and will inevitably result in data loss. If this isn't changed by the next version, I'm switching to a different AV package that isn't designed with baked-in disrespect for users. There is no situation in which it's appropriate to forcibly shut down a user's computer, which could well be in the middle of a long compilation or rendering task. The traditi

I do know that fake Flash installers, something common in the Windows world as well, are targeted by Malwarebytes and typically categorized as PUP (Potentially Unwanted Programs) as they're usually some kind of adware in disguise, so if that's what these are as well, then I would expect Malwarebytes to target them the same way. That's just my hypothesis though, so either a staff member would need to confirm or someone would need to scan the apps in question to see.

It sounds like you're in pretty good shape to me Since you're running the Home version of Windows, which doesn't support Remote Desktop, you won't have to worry about that, however I personally recommend disabling Remote Assistance which is another remote access feature in Windows. You should also take a look at our Tips to help protect from infection if you haven't already. It's a lot of info so you don't have to rush to get through all of it at once. Just take your time and get to it as you can. It includes much of what I've already told you, so you've already completed a lot

When one subscriptions nears the end I will activate the new subscription a day before the last one ends. When I activate a new subscription I register it in my account. I have had no problems getting support or updating the product. Mac and PC licenses are the same.
