  4. I was due for an appointment with the gynecologist later in the week. Early one morning, I received a call from the doctor’s office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am. I had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already around 8:45 am. The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn’t have any time to spare. As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn’t going to be able to make the full effort. So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pajamas, wet the washcloth t

To install the beta, simply do the following: Open the Malwarebytes app Open the settings, by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner of the Malwarebytes window Select the General tab, if necessary Check the Beta Application Updates box, and verify t

  6. Yes. I'm so disgusted though with the development of Firefox. In my opinion they have way too many Google Chrome developers or Leads on the Firefox team. Each version of Firefox that comes out gets closer and closer to being a 100% Google Chrome CLONE If I wanted Google Chrome I'd install Google Chrome and bypass Firefox if it's going to be a knock off. I don't want almost any features from Google Chrome, get back to creating your own unique safe browser and stop being a Lemming that simply follows along with what Google Chrome does

  7. As of yesterday, many users have reported unexplained crashes of the Chrome browser. Symptoms: - Extensions crash - All pages (including Chrome pages like settings) refuse to load. - The screen is completely blank - The tab is simply labeled "Untitled" with a frowning folder next to it. These crashes are NOT related to Browser Guard. A possible solution can be found here.

  15. This file is ok. It has been whitelisted since october of last year. Virustotal is having trouble reaching our cloud so it may report files detected that arent actually detected locally on your machine by mbam.

  16. The def # is a link to our internal def. We are working on development to provide better names for these eventually. I will whiteliste this for now as it is mostly a legit minor. It should no longer be detected in about 10 mins.

  20. Hello, IP Address: 192.223.26.237 is blocked. As for why Malwarebytes blocks Steam and other games, this is because Steam is Torrent based software, are what are known as Peer-to-Peer (P2P) applications meaning it connects to many different servers/IP addresses (this is how files are downloaded through Torrent based software) and because of this, sometimes Torrent based software will connect to a server that is also known for hosting malicious content. This is because servers/IP addresses are often shared by multiple sites, so while what you are Playing/downloading through Torrent b

  23. This was brought to my attention before you posted it (someone watching new member logins). I have fixed and verified downloads for FolderMatch and FolderClone. I have also added whitelist entries for Doppelganger and HTML Match, but they are being blocked by Chrome. You will need to either begin using an HTTPS certificate, or tell your prospective users to not use Chrome and choose Firefox instead. I think I would go with option #1. For reference, browser vendors are actively moving towards blocking of HTTP content in favor of HTTPS. It will likely only get worse in the future, but it is

  24. Hello @Xauma95: Not quite. Also, as @treed tells us above, MBG for Mac Safari will be managed by a different internal Malwarebytes team. I'm sure we all look forward to that day. 25. First, a question: are you using Time Machine to do these backups? If so, you should under no circumstances allow anything to scan them! Time Machine backups are very fragile, and if anything other than Time Machine makes changes to them, the entire thing can come down like a house of cards... except that it may appear to be working until such time as you need to restore data, and then discover it's corrupt. Even if it's not Time Machine, I'd strongly discourage you from taking such actions on a backup. If the backup has malicious files, simply get your computer into a clean state, then b

  26. Web protection is still in the list of future plans, but as a first step we'll provide a Safari version of Browser Guard. On Windows, Browser Guard can actually block much more intelligently than the web protection in MB4, and although there's definitely a use for both, Browser Guard will be much quicker to release. I can't give a timeframe, of course, especially since I'm not actually part of the team that's working on Browser Guard... but we're getting much closer.

Is that (then China based) particular company trustworthy now? In my own private and personal opinion, SERIOUSLY AND ABSOLUTELY NO! 28. Windows Defender has come on in leaps an bounds since the early days and scores very well against paid for (and outdoes most free) AV's in comparisons. Many members here team Windows Defender with Malwarebytes and feel no need for a 3rd party AV.

  29. FYI. This setting is in the experimental stage. I suggest you keep it off unless you are comfortable dealing with the FP's That setting is to detect malformed files but sometimes legit files use protection that make them malformed. Malwarebytes is still tweaking the algorithms that is why it’s off by default. If you switch it on it is assumed, you are able to tell the difference between a FP and a legit detection. And if you keep it on, I suggest also turn off auto quarantine. Gives you the time to report FP's and not go thru the extra step to have to restore from quarantine.

  30. Hello @ng4ever Deciding what is really idle often turns out to be a lot more complex than it seems. On modern computers there are often many programs that are almost constantly talking and broadcasting or looking for changes and updates. The computer never really seems to go to the same type of idle computers did years ago before everything was so connected online. I can add your suggestion to a list of a few other recent suggestions but I can't promise it will make it into the product. Thank you for your suggestion

  32. Does anybody know how you increase your rank/ community reputation on this platform? I've seen this functionality appear on my profile, but I'm not entirely sure how it works... Is it something for instance, that only staff members have influence over? Or, is it the case that this is something that generally applies to every person who is a member of Malwarebytes Forums? I'm eager to hear the answer!
