  1. Hello! This happened to me this morning as well. I did a ton of googling to find a solution and it was a mix and match of things. I think I've found my problem, (not sure if it'll be different for you all), but I also don't know how often those websites will come back and redirect out of nowhere but it hasn't happened yet since this morning so I'll assume it worked. What I did was I went to my google history from my phone in the upper right corner, then at the top of History, you'll see myactivity.google .com which will show you in detail what happens on your phone. I went to where t

  2. PS. Please everybody, do not go on Google or any search engine of another kind, looking for real Malwarebytes Support. All too often, that is how people fall into a scam. The real Support portal starts at https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us The spot to start a Support ticket is https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

  7. Hello @safesecure84 and As strictly a home user, it is highly unlikely you are employing SolarWinds' Orion and the chances of your systems being targeted by the bad actors is zero. As long as you are employing "safe hex" you are less likely to be victimized by targeted attacks. HTH

  8. Just some other tidbits. I do hope that the way you initially created the Support ticket was thru the online Support portal. Once you have created a Ticket, the system will send a confirmation email to you, with the Subjcet line Malwarebytes Support Ticket ( with a 7 digit number ) That 7-digit number is the Ticket number. The from is support@mail1.malwarebytes.com From that point on, just follow the directions provided you, and make 1 reply as appropriate. and then await the next response. Have patience. I hope this helps you ( as well as other readers) abou

  9. Howdy. Added bits, remarks. No, do not attempt to use any "compatibility mode". It will make things quirky / it is not needed / undesirable / actually makes things worse for the Malwarebytes program. Find the Malwarebytes icon on your desktop and right click on it with your mouse > select "Properties" > then click on the "Compatibility" tab. Make sure that the box beside "run this program in compatibility mode for..." is left blank. Click OK when done. . IF you created a recent Support Ticket, stick with that. Do not try to do anything special with email.

  11. Malwarebytes for Mac does indeed detect the OSAMiner components described by Sentinel One. We did notice that the scripts from Sentinel One's write-up were fairly old and don't all seem to actually be functional at this point. We added detection anyway, just to be on the safe side, keying on behaviors that we suspect should be in newer versions of the malware. We're also actively searching for newer variants, and will update the rules as needed.

If you're still having an issue then we'll do a clean removal of all and try new installs and see if that works. For now, please download the following and install this version and let me know if it corrects your issues or not https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mbprivacy-offline-beta-2.0

  17. Hello @JKY: Although I can not personally attest to the efficacy of MBPrivacy for Mac v1.4.11.677, with a new Apple M1 based product, to include your Mac mini, I can assure you it works quite well with my Intel based MacBook Pro running macOS Big Sur 11.1 (20C69). The fact that you seemed to have been able to install, launch and activate the app would certainly imply, but not yet guarantee, your success with M1. Have you tried making VPN based connections through alternative geographic servers? Does the possibility exist your Mac mini was/is running Apple's Rosetta 2 emulator w

  18. What Hardhead says is accurate; you didn't need to buy a new license. It's likely just an issue with the lifetime license needing to be reset on the backend. Please try following the steps I outlined above to sign up for an account at My.Malwarebytes.com and adding your lifetime license ID and Key there if it doesn't show up automatically, then try using the Deactivate all function described in this support article, and if your lifetime license still doesn't work to activate the product, please contact Malwarebytes Support directly by filling out the form found here and a member of Malwareby

  19. You might study the contents of your /croatian and /spiritual-warfare folders. They are what is causing the problems. Malwarebytes is only echoing what several other vendors have determined through their analysis. As far as reviewing every site before acting on any site, there is no capability to make a single pass through the Internet, let alone changes that happen on a minute-by-minute basis. I wish I had that kind of computer power available!

  20. Greetings, The self-protection module is what's preventing you from terminating the service that way. First, since you want to use Malwarebytes in free mode, open Malwarebytes and deactivate the premium trial as described in this support article. Next, go to the Security tab and and toggle the option under Windows startup to the off position so that Malwarebytes doesn't launch automatically when your computer boots. Finally, whenever you run Malwarebytes manually to perform a scan, once it completes right-click on the Malwarebytes tray icon and select Quit Malwarebytes and sele

  22. I have asked my manager to look at this thread as well. He was in meetings today. At issue is the problem you are reporting with reference to one of the overall goals of Browser Guard -- user privacy. I can see the conflict, and the determination of how to resolve this needs to originate with my manager. I am hoping he will be able to respond tomorrow, however we are also heading into Christmas break.

  23. Malwarebytes already addresses the tools and methods used by SolarWinds as an attack vector. As for a home user using the product, that is very unlikely as most of their tools are designed for large business models with costs often over $2K to start out. 32. Hello, So I tried to download a Minecraft thing because a friend recommended it and ended up with several unwanted programs getting installed which included segurazo. I did do a scan in safe mode to remove it, but, when I did a custom scan (which has now been running for over 30hrs straight), I got a detection for the segurazo uninstaller. When I went to the file location, it looks like all of the files are still there along with some other programs I thought I removed (something called alsephina, web discover, and thundersea). Should I cancel the scan and go into safe mode to try again?

  34. As to the Powershell screen-grab ( above), the "commands" entered belong in a actual Command prompt and not in Powershell. That is why they did not work. I would caution to not automatically assume that advice or direction given to others can or should be used without expert guidance. A lot of times, directions on this forum by our expert helpers is customized specifically to one machine only. Then I would add that OS commands for Powershell are unique & different to it, and, are not the same syntax at all as the ones for a Command prompt ( CMD ). . Please do not do

  35. @mbam_mtbr The dev is saying that he hasn't updated it since 2019, and that something else must be exploiting something in his code to push this. The result is currently the same, but this is just a heads up incase he fixes the issue then this would be mislabeled as adware in your system. 36. I flagged this to the app's creator, and he refuses to believe that it's happening. He says that it's a clone of his app or something. Either he's BSing, or he honestly doesn't know that someone has done something to his app. Either way, hopefully he will fix it. Only solution is uninstall for now.

  38. Hi. It appears as if the Microsoft Defender antivirus is notifying you about a undealt with item it tagged sometime in the past. At times, clearing a old entry out of the scan history of Microsoft Defender can be a challenge. The more important point is, Whether Microsoft Defender is flagging a actual current threat. The Microsoft Safety Scanner is a free Microsoft stand-alone virus scanner that can be used to scan for & remove malware or potentially unwanted software from a system. The download links & the how-to-run-the tool are at this link at Microsoft ht

So it no longer gets security updates. Have you considered a free upgrade to Windows 10 from Microsoft ? Let me know. . I notice that this system has no installed antivirus program. That makes it more exposed to potential infection. I am going to guide you to doing a few different scans to see if there are actual viruses.
