  1. 1. You have indicated that the right click problem is a recognized problem and will be fixed. 2. Is the Custom Scan a recognized problem and will it be fixed? Thanks. Lloyd
  2. Yes, I made a mistake. When the scan starts running, then it shows that it is scanning the items mentioned: Pre-Scan Operations, Filesystem objects, and Heuristic Analysis. What I do not see is that the Custom Scan is scanning the selected folder. It scans 199554 objects, takes 5 minutes, indicates that it has scanned zero folders and zero files.
  3. I made mistake in my post. I uncheck the 3 on the left, and select the downloaded folder on the right to scan with MBAM v2. When the scan starts, it indicates that it is scanning the things I mentioned: Pre-Scan Operations, Filesystem objects, and Heuristic Analysis. What I do not see is the folder I selected to scan.
  4. I do a custom scan, uncheck Pre-Scan Operations, Filesystem objects, and Heuristic Analysis, check the folder to scan. The scan takes 5 min 11 seconds. View detailed log, and it says Folders 0, Files 0. It does not look to me like it scanned the folder I selected. 5. Do you recommend uninstalling MBAM v2 and reinstalling MBAM v1.75 until v2 is fixed? Will I be notified when v2 is fixed? Thanks.
  6. 1. I still have the same problem with MBAM v2 on my win8.1 laptop. When I right-click on a folder to scan with MBAM, the MBAM window pops up, but does not automatically scan the folder/file. And when I try the custom scan, uncheck everything and check the folder to be checked, it scans more than the folder/file, and I cannot tell for sure if it scans the folder. Also, after I ran Tweaking.com windows repair, I have the following problem with ie11: 2. I normally download software from internet explorer (vx). My home page is google https://www.google.com/. When I tried to signin to my google account, I received an error msg: "Oops, your browser seems to have cookies disabled. Make sure cookies are enabled, or try opening a new browser window." I went to internet options, turned on third party and session cookies, but still was not able in signin to google in internet explorer. I also tried adding https://www.google.com to trusted sites. I tried Firefox with the same google home page and logging on to google, and it worked. I have not figured out what tweaking.com windows repair did to prevent me logging in to google in ie11. Thanks.
  7. Thanks very much for your help. I follow most of your advice. I do use Avast free and have returned to the original topic to try to get MBAM v2 working on my laptop. I used to use Secunia PSI, but they started doing the updates. I prefer to do them myself. I now use SUMo Lite installer which "does not contain any sponsors", to determine which of my installed software needs updates. I will start using Security Check. Thank you again for all your help and suggestions.
  8. My laptop has been cleaned: see topic https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=145489. The trusted advisor Psychotic advised me: Please return to your topic at the Malwarebytes support. Tell your helper that you were here and finsihed the malware removal process so they may provide further advice. Thanks.
  9. After I rebooted, I tried right-clicking to scan a folder with MBAM v2, and it is still not automatically starting a scan as v1.75.
