Constant Message Saying "Successfully blocked access to a potentially"...

Starting 11/1/2013, I have been getting a message saying "Successfully blocked access to a potentially malicious website 74.120.16 etc., Type: Outgoing, Port: Number varies, Process: iexplore.exe.

 

I get this message no matter what website I access. My access to website is not blocked. I am just getting this message no matter what website I access.

 

I have had the full version of Malwarebytes for a year. I have  seen this message occasionally and trusted that it was legitimate. But now I am seeing it constantly. I have run multiple full scans using both Malwarebytes and Norton 360. They have never detected any problems. So this appears to be a false positive, but I am not sure.

I did this yesterday. Looks like it takes at least one business day for a response.

My problem just started 11/1. Since you are experiencing the same problem, it may be a new glitche and perhaps other folks will be notifying them as well. Meanwhile, I recommend limiting your browsing. Kind of scary when a previously reliable message starts misfiring. Malwarebytes has been great for me up until now. Good luck!

Until one of the STAFF arrives, a couple of things:
 
First, this is the section of the forum for posting about possible False Positive detections on the filesystem scanning module, not the IP blocking module; website false positives are reported in a different forum section (see below).
Second, the staff would need more info (see below), in order to research your problem.
Third, even though it might seem like the "same" problem for both of you, each computer is unique -- so it's generally preferable to start separate topics.  That way, each topic can receive individual attention, with minimal confusion.
 
Having said all that, it could be that MBAM PRO is doing its job of blocking malicious content on websites (it could just be banner ads, not the website itself).  However, IP blocks can be indicative of infection, especially if they are outgoing and they occur with no open web browsers. :)

After reading those topics, if you think the IP blocks you are seeing might be a False Positive, please follow the advice in this pinned topic >>HERE<<.

Then please start a new post with the requested information (e.g. the specific IPs being blocked) in the website blocking FP section of the forum >>HERE<<.
The staff will determine whether or not those blocks are a FP. :)
 
OTOH, if you think instead that you might be infected, I would suggest that you please follow the recommendations in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
A malware analyst will guide you through the scanning and cleanup process.

P.S. (I'm not sure, but I think that by "MBP" you are referring to Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) PRO??)

According to the MBAM researcher who deals with IP blocks (MysteryFCM), the blocks on this particular IP range are NOT a false positive: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=136048#entry750140

(They may have been recently added to the IP blocklist, due to the presence of malicious content. That would explain why they are being blocked now.)
 
As such, the safest course of action would be to follow the advice of our forum Admin (AdvancedSetup) given to another user reporting these same IP blocks: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=136048#entry750209
I would suggest that you please follow the recommendations in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
A malware expert will guide you through the scanning and cleanup process - the help is free.

With that many blocks that quickly I would bet that you're computer is infected.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. On 11/1,  I opened an E Birthday Card  from my sister (attached to an email) and, as I discovered it was infected with adware and junkware. I want to thank Julia from the Malwarebytes Helpdesk who patiently instructed me how to fix my problems via email over a 10 day period.

She suggested free addons called WOT (Web of Trust) as well as AdBlockplus, , which I have downloaded. She also supplied me with scans such as Combofix, AdwCleaner and instructed me on how to update my Java scripts. She is really a pro and helped me big time!!!
