  2. Greetings, You should start by signing up at My.Malwarebytes.com using the same email address you used when you originally purchased your license if possible. You'll find info on how to do so in this support article. If you aren't able to use the same email for some reason then you'll find instructions on how to add an existing license to your account in this support article. Once that is done, you should be able to deactivate the previous installation using the options in the My Account web portal to do so. You'll find details on how to do so in this support article. If you still aren't successful then please contact Malwarebytes Support directly by filling out the form on the bottom of this page and they will assist you by resetting the key for you.   6. Yes, there is. But, we have to know the URL of the FakeAlert or other form of malvertisement for it to be blocked. This is done by submitting the URL in; Newest IP or URL Threats after reading; READ ME: Purpose of this forum
  7. That all makes sense, I think it did fool me by hiding in another Firefox tab/window. I have written to the blog owner already, I know him well, so I hope he can sort something out. As I run Malwarebytes, it's a shame that doesn't have a way to block these things. Cheers.

  9. What I demonstrated in my reply are FakeAlerts which are classed as malicious advertisements or malvertisements. As such it is not about what software is on your PC but about what web sites you visit and one's browsing habits. For example there are certain porn sites that have a greater propensity to exhibit a FakeAlert. If you are on Windows, a Microsoft FakeAlert. If you are on an Apple iPhone or MAC, you will see an Apple FakeAlert. Then there are sites that don't care who they do business with when it comes to advertisement revenue. Or when one marketing company outsources to another. Then the malvertisement may be rotated in or randomly displayed. As I have explained in other discussions I have seen fake Mozilla Firefox update malvertisements emanating from the Weather Channel web site. There was a case where members visited AllMusic.com and on rare occasions they got a Microsoft FakeAlert. The reports were few and reproducing it was difficult but finally I was able to coax a Microsoft FakeAlert from a visitation. It was all discussed in This Thread. Reference: Post #20 I visited the WordPress site using a couple different browsers and so far I don't see any malvertisements. It does have advertisements I also noticed that there were many frames for ads that were empty and at the bottom of these frames were "Report this ad" and when I clicked on it, it changed to "Report submitted" so they may be place holders where malvertisement(s) may be eventually rotated in or randomly displayed. I'll keep trying to coax the site to produce a malvertisement. Many FakeAlerts are coded in such a fashion as it makes the PC run like a dog and act "weird". This is to lend credulity to their false claim there is something wrong. These sites may open multiple instances of the Browser. Thus you may think you have closed a Browser Window but the Browser is running an invisible instance. The way to truly close them out is to kill the firefox.exe processes. This is done by using the Windows Task Manager ( key sequence; "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Del" keys ) and close all instances of firefox.exe until you don't see it listed any longer. This is done by placing the Cursor on firefox.exe and hitting "End Process" on each instance. Adware is software that resides on a system. If you want to alert the Blog Owner, indicate that you are experiencing malicious advertisements or malvertisements when you visit the site.
  10. Just have updated my Windows 10 to version 1903 here. Before that i closed MWB, and put the option off to not start with windows. After the update i did start MWB and put this option on again, no problems seen whatsoever! Now have OS Build 18362.116, no problems with MWB and Windows Security on.
  11. I reset my phone back to factory settings after Malwarebytes discoveredTrojan.Dropper.Agent.BJin my settings app! I would like to know if there is anything I can do to get this virus off my phone.
  12. I'm was getting this with WinXP running on a VM both timedate.cpl and an associated cache.dll causing me to do a full system scan as the supposed trojan sounded extra nasty. So time wasted worrying and doing that not appreciated. However I can also confirm the later update in the day: v2019.05.25.06 appears to have fixed the problem. Thanks for that. Was this a WinXP 32bit only thing? I ask because I updated my host 64bit OS's Malwarebytes definitions at the same time and did my at least weekly quick scan at the same time and it did not flag up the same file(s) either from outside scanning the VM XP installation or indeed its own timedate.cpl files, present in both the System32 and SysWOW64 folders. The file concerned appears to be the OS clock so how on earth did that rather important system file end up getting identified as a trojan anyway?

This is still happening (Malwarebytes vanishes from computer) with latest versions of the program on Windows 7 machines that I support, so I'm not able to determine the exact scenario or details of what's happening as the USER IS NOT AWARE THAT IT IS GONE! This is a BAD SITUATION as it can be MONTHS before I get a call from the owner/user. I can't believe this - I think it's a HUGE vulnerability -- these are paid for licenses and this update/upgrade process needs to be a bit more failsafe for users that aren't very computer savvy - the most vulnerable users in the first place!

  15. Along those lines, but no human voice, just a loud beeping noise. Until today I thought it was what you suggest above, but today the PC wouldn't do anything, and when I closed the browser (firefox) and re-opened it, the bloody thing was still there. Malwarebytes has now opened and done a scan with no problems detected, so I will assume all is OK, and will send a message to the Wordpress blog owner that he has this adware problem, as it only appears when I browse his blog (if you're curious, it's aeolipera.wordpress.com.   17. Downloaded and ran the Malwarebytes Support Tool. Tried the Repair first. It seemed to do the trick. Malwarebytes is up and running again. Thanks for the advise.

Despite what you had been able to do in the past. The licensing system is enforcing the terms of the license. . I would encourage you, if you have not already done so, to create a Help Ticket with Support. This forum can only provide you generic type help. Please go to this link https://support.malwarebytes.com/community/contactsupport/pages/home-support Provide the detail and submit the ticket. Do scroll down to the section “Create Ticket”. Please double check that you supply a valid / properly spelled & correct Email ( hopefully the same one you used at the time or original purchase). . Assuming you bought licenses directly from Malwarebytes, you would have supplied a Email at the original purchase. That same email is what you should use to login to Malwarebytes MyAccount. https://my.malwarebytes.com/en/login If you have misplaced or do not have the password for that login, use the blue "Forgot password" link. Keep in mind that the Email has to be valid and active. . That being able to do that login and then to see what it shows there for Licenses is an important factor. If you do not see your license listed there, you can not make headway on your own. In the latter case, you will need to create a Support help ticket ( if not already done). There are several help articles on the Support portal about the topic of licenses, de-activation, re-activation. If still detected on your end after ~10 minutes from now. Perform the following steps: Totally exit/shutdown Malwarebytes. Go to here in explorer: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService Delete the following file only: hubblecache Then you can restart MBAM and the cache file will rebuild on the next scan.   25. I have a new wireless printer installed on my local network. Its scanning function is blocked -- the printer is not seen -- but printing works fine. Disabling Malwarebytes, with no other changes, allows the scanning function to work in the same session. The vendor (Brother) indicates which specific UDP ports need to be opened to enable the scanning function; these are different than the UDP ports needed for printing. How can I configure MB to unblock these ports? My regular antivirus (still running) does not block the scanning function.
