Fell for the "try my game" scam
zyghoul replied to zyghoul's topic in Windows Malware Removal Help & Support
I realized this morning that i had ticked show hidden files under view but hadn't ticked show file name extensions by accident. I hope that that doesn't affect any of the previous steps. I ticked it before this run. Here are the logs. msert.log -

I do see an open ticket right now, an Agent will get to your ticket as soon as they can.

@nosa2 What is the closed ticket number?
-
I would be grateful if anyone could help. I've Been a long-time customer of Malwarebytes and never had issue till now
-
It was selling for a discount
-
@Ried can you assist?
-
It is possible they sold the license to more than one user and the other user already added to their account. It is been known to happen. Why did you not purchase it direct?
-
It's one year one device key. I bought it in February of this year
-
That site is famous for selling bad keys to Malwarebytes.

Where did you purchase the license and was it s subscription or the old discontinued lifetime ones?

Device limit exceeded
David H. Lipman replied to nosa2's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Please provide the website where said License was obtained. -
I just tried this and it is saying unable to register license key. How can I be out of luck? I bought key and it activated online. it is not telling me the key is bad or stolen or anything like that. It's just not tied to my account
-
If it is truly a legitimate license from an authorized seller then the following will help. Just because a license works in the software does not make it legit. If you purchased your product from a physical retail store or another website, we recommend you create a Malwarebytes account login and register your license with us. Registering your license to the account website allows you to manage your subscription and devices and deactivate your license from a device. To register your license key, complete the following steps. Sign in to your account. In the Subscriptions tab, click the My subscriptions tab. Scroll to the bottom of the list of your current subscriptions. Click Link an existing subscription. In the Register a license pop-up window, enter your license key exactly as provided. Note: If your subscription came with a License ID, click the check box, then enter your License ID. Click Register to add the license key to your account. If the above does not allow you to register the license then you are out of luck.
