  2. No problem, we'll keep it open and you're quite welcome for the assist. Let's get real. If you're not backing up your data and you're still using Google Chrome then you're just not serious about Privacy, Safety, and protecting your data. Malwarebytes is a fantastic program but you still need to back up your data and you still need to block scripts and Ads in your browser. If you're still using Google Chrome I would highly suggest you consider using Firefox instead. For more advanced users you might consider installing NoScript as well (it does have a higher learning curve though) Help Secure your browsers Please install uBlock Origin for your browsers to better protect your system FireFox, Chrome, Opera , Safari, Microsoft Edge AdBlock for Internet Explorer How to use uBlock Origin to protect your online privacy and security | uBlock Origin tutorial 2018 This video tutorial above explains how to use uBlock Origin in advanced user mode and all the advanced settings to protect your online privacy and help prevent unwanted sites from changing your browser settings Follow-up Reading Everything you need to know about cybercrime 10 easy ways to prevent malware infection Keep your data backed up Thank you for choosing Malwarebytes and tell your friends and family too. 3. Thank you very much Ron. I installed it to the correct directory now. Would you mind keeping this topic open for the next couple days? I'll try to scan my PC tomorrow or the day after and post back if anything reappeared. If not, you can close this topic. THANKS, you are awesome!
  4. I pointed to the instructions here https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/193729-purpose-of-this-forum/
  5. "I have this question too" stat is upto 22 now. I saw the post by MadMacs0 about uploading the extension. If you can post simple howto instructions, it may be helpful.
  6. EtreCheck won't really help here. The staff is going to want to evaluate the app and extension first in order to classify it and learn all the file that are installed. It maybe adware or just a PUP or something more malicious. I posted a request to upload the components to a protected forum where the staff and a few others can take a look.
  7. Okay, may I suggest you uninstall Malwarebytes from the other drive? Then go ahead and reinstall it back to the default drive Is there anything else I can assist you with?
  8. Okay, looks like this time it did the trick. Fixlog.txt
  9. Malwarebytes folder was made the same time the other "folders" were made And like I said earlier I had to install it to other directory because I received errors whilst trying to install to the directory in C:/Program Files
  10. oh-oh. i've changed internet providers and the lic. info was registered against the old email acct which is now defunct. Don't recall the password tried plenty but no go. And forgot password is useless as the email is long gone. Our other lic. is registered against current email but it wont let me bring the original lic across.
  11. You have Malwarebytes installed and C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes is a valid folder.
  12. Okay, run this one again to verify the file names fixlist.txt
  13. That is correct. But the original poster posted an EtreCheck report. I wanted to stay with MBAM but I couldn't. That is how this place works. I can ask other participants to post EtreCheck reports. It appears that other users are following this thread.
  14. Looks like there was a small error in fixlog.txt? Fixlog.txt
  15. Not sure what caused it. First time I've seen this one myself. Please run the updated fix file. fixlist.txt Ron
  16. ‪C:\Program Files\Common Files\adaware ‪C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes ‪C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\G Data These require admin rights as well to open and that should be all of them I can find as of now. Would you have any clue what caused all of this? Did any of the log files I uploaded gave a hint what messed everything up?
  17. Great, all looks good. Are there any other folders left over or any other issues then before we close up here?
  18. Please download the attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop. NOTE. It's important that both files, FRST or FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work. NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on this particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system. Run FRST or FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait. If the tool needs a restart please make sure you let the system restart normally and let the tool complete its run after restart. The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please attach or post it to your next reply. Note: If the tool warned you about an outdated version please download and run the updated version. fixlist.txt Ron
  19. Ahh, MixBuilder, but doesn't help much. Just takes me to the same discussion. At least we have screenshot. Would have been nice to have a copy of the Extension and or app, but seems too late for that. It seems that everybody that posted have removed both already, or did I miss something?
