  2. It updated the software but afterwards Windows defender blocked msiexec.exe from accessing the document folder. I assume msiexec.exe is safe and WINDOWS defender is just being over protective.
  3. Yes, a very iconic personality with a history of excellent entertainment. Sad to hear of his passing.
  4. @Bill2112 If you're using the paid premium version of Malwarebytes then yes it is very likely it was blocked by our Anti-Exploit module. If you open the Reports section of the program it should show the block in one of the reports. You can upload all the logs from our MBST support program and I can review the logs to see for sure. Upload Malwarebytes Support Tool logs offline Please post back the fixlog.txt file once you've completed the fix Thank you Bill
  5. Please download the following software and check for out dated software and update as needed. Patch My PC Home Updater https://patchmypc.com/home-updater Let me know what it finds
  6. Hello @RASelkirk A very highly likely candidate for ongoing clean up issues may be related to your use of CCleaner Most Experts no longer recommend the use of CCleaner. It's your choice but I'd recommend you uninstall and use builtin tools where possible to achieve general computer maintenance. You have a very old and compromised version of Java on the computer. This greatly increases your threat attack surface area. I would highly recommend you go to Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features and uninstall Java 8 Update 91 Are you 100% sure that your ZoneAl
  7. Yes, it certainly seems that way.... I'm just leaving Web Protection off until Malwarebytes sort it out.
  8. So far so good . Will see if the task manager show disk usage at 100% Thanks again.
  9. Today
  10. No need to run again. The log looks pretty good and was able to correctly do what it was asked overall. No need for the CBS.log file. It did find and fix the issues it found. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. How is the computer running now?

  15. I just updated to 4.2.2. Then I got a pop-up that said Restart Now, or Restart Automatically in 10 minutes - save any files. Not other options. No way to close the pop-up. I wasn't able to get everything cleaned up before the restart happened automatically. Bad, bad, bad. There should be an option to delay a restart. Give the user a choice. ARGH!!!
  16. FRST logs did not show any malware or infection, VT check is not conclusive. The log showing the block is pointing at Chrome. Reset Chrome to clear unexpected issues https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/258938-resetting-google-chrome-to-clear-unexpected-issues/ Let me know if the blocks cease...
  17. Using Version 4.2.2.95 Component package 1.0.1096 I have found that my NAS that is discovered by WSD is showing consistently in Windows Network. My second (older) NAS and Raspberry Pi's that are discovered by NetBIOS initially show up, but disappear after a certain time (many minutes). They can still be accessed, just not discovered in Windows Network. Disabling Web Protection immediately allows NetBIOS discovery computers to be seen. It seems that the accidental block for Web Services for Devices (WSD) may have also affected NetBIOS discovery, the latest version has remo
  18. Under Exploit Protection, the option to block penetration testing attacks had already been disabled, yet the Office problem had remained. I also restored default settings all around yesterday. However, today Malwarebytes had a new update, and it found 20 items to quarantine, rather than the usual 13-15. I created a test Excel file, and I was able to save it. Perhaps it is fixed now.
  19. Hello. Based on the contents of the ransom note ( that you posted before) this ransomware is one of the STOP Djvu. As stated before, Malwarebytes has no decryptor. Depending on whether the ransomware used a Offline key, it 'might' be possible to try using the Emsisoft Decryptor for Stop Djvu. Before you attempt that, do 2 things. Read the article on STOP ransomware at Bleeping computer https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/671473/stop-ransomware-stop-puma-djvu-promo-drume-help-support-topic/ and 2, make backup copies of the encrypted files / documents just to be saf
